Starting out promoting & djing at Brighton-based UK hip hop club night "Clever Looking" in 2000, Simpson went on to work with Tru Thoughts Records, and from there launched launched sister label and hip hop imprint Zebra Traffic Records in 2002 with Robert Luis. He’s still linked to the label, but in late 2006, he decided to leave his role at Tru Thoughts and from there launched Five Missions More, an independent music publishing company, which he continues to co-run.

Originally started in 2002, Zebra Traffic was set up with the aim of consistently releasing good quality UK based hip hop. 6 years down the line and the catalogue is bulging with top notch hip hop music! Albums from some of the scene's most prolific and high profile artists, including Phi-Life Cypher, Diversion Tactics, Cappo, Dirty Diggers, Rup, Digitek, The Headcase Ladz, Up Hygh, Life and more have cemented the label's position as one of the country's leading lights.
