| the
daily show
is inspired by the John Peel approach to radio - "if you don't like this record, stick around, you might like the next one" - diversity is the keyword with the programme.
Drawing from the bottomless well of obscure singers and musicians (with the odd big name thrown in for light relief) expect garage punk, psych, reggae, post-punk, rockabilly, kosmische, funk, soul, gospel, jump blues, techno, dubstep and transworld exotica of all hues.
The Daily Show thrives on new releases but also brings you vital stuff from ages past: masses of original vinyl and every good record from every genre!

22-may-13 the daily show The daily show cranks out new stuff from The Soundcarriers, Koreless, Temple Music and The Fall. Vital reissues in the shape of the peerless folk guitar of Davy Graham, the Romanian electronica of Rodion G.A, the lo-fi VU stylings of the Garbage & the Flowers and the funky spiritual hues of the Flying Eagles Gospel Storytellers. Madness and badness from the Kinks, Medikao, Bing Selfish and Mary Love. |

A short film I made of Brighton.
*diary
Breaking a year's silence in the diary to tell you about a publication which is well worth tracking down - Sonic Antiquarian by Thee Rockhunter. I'm sure if you google it you can find out where to get a copy. Its a fairly scurrilous but handsomely mounted book - part truth, part fact and part downright lies. If you like 60s garage punk and the compilation culture or you live in or around Brighton it will have special interest for you. I can't get enough of it. Reading it is a bit like being in a hall of mirrors or perhaps a bad dream. Anyway - have a read of it if you can find a copy.
If you are wondering why there's been no diary for over a year... well, I just thought that really the show speaks for itself and aren't there enough brainless opinions everywhere else on the internet? Why add to the pile.
