Lost IdolLost Idol
Over the years Lost Idol (James Dean) has championed pretty much every musical style possible from behind his fabled record players. Starting as an embassador for “proper” underground techno music at the tender age of 15, he then got excited by the emerging UK drum and bass scene, until the tempo got too much for his old ticker at which point he embraced the early instrumental hip hop manoeuvres of labels such as Mo Wax, Ninja Tune and Pork (who he later went on to record for). Since then his thirst for new and innovative music has led him into electronica, folk, and psychedelic territories; if it excites him, he’ll spin it. Cut to the present and James is now DJing a wide selection of sets in the UK and abroad, and has recorded guest mixes for Solid Steel (Ninja Tune), Samurai FM, Basic Soul, and Unfold (Tru Thoughts). James also runs the Cookshop record label, for which he records as Lost Idol.

Lost Idol's debut album "Utters From A Cluttered Mind" was released in 2007 on Cookshop, click here to check it out. Recently Lost Idol has been busy remixing artists such as Pepe Deluxe (Catskills), Flevans (Jack To Phono/Tru Thoughts), Dr Rubberfunk, Ikon and more. He's also been out on the live circuit playing everywhere from the Big Chill Festival to Brighton Live to a support slot with Caribou. At the time of writing he's commencing work on his 2nd album for Cookshop.

La FemmeLa Femme
Fellow conspirator and co-instigator of the Cookshop label, La Femme (Emily Cracknell) is an avid DJ and producer. While her roots lie in the classic production values of artists such as Photek, Dillinja and other such drum & bass luminaries her sound reflects an inquisitive and experimental use of the good ol’ breakbeat with more than a smattering of hooks and atmospherics to boot. As a DJ she mixes up pretty much everything from downtempo ditties to deep funk/soul to electro-punk to liquid drum and bass; a good well-rounded taste that’s certainly reflected in her selections for the Morning Glory show.
