How do I use the totallyradio player?

The totallyradio player uses Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player version 10 is now widely available.

*You will also need the Flash plug-in installed. If you are using a Mac please click here.

Some users have reported problems when using Windows Media Player 10. Try checking the "run script commands when present" option under Tools/Options/Security. Alternatively use the totallyradio player.

See picture for function information.

1. Tracking bar
- moves from left to right to indicate the current play position within a show. The indicator can also be dragged manually to a desired position within a show. When a show finishes, the indicator will be reset and the player will start playing the next show in the schedule or automatically restart a specific show.

2. Status indicators - the indicator displays one of three states: connecting, buffering (indicated by a rotating clock) and connected (a smiling face). Rolling the mouse over the indicator while the player is buffering will display the percentage of buffering completed.

3. Email - opens a new window allowing you to send emails to the DJ's of a particular show, request technical support, approach us about commercial enquiries or send us a general message. Alternatively you may send email to post@totallyradio.com

4. Archive - opens the totallyradio show archive.
This link will open the archive of the current show you are listening to.

5. Homepage - Opens the totallyradio homepage.

6. Schedule - switches to schedule mode. This will allow you to scroll through this weeks shows and choose one to listen to by clicking on the show title.

7. Tell a friend - opens a new window that enables you to send a message to a friend.

8. Show info - opens the show info page for the current show.

9. Movie display - additional visuals to the show playing.

10. Show information
- displays the name of the current show and the name of the next show in the schedule.

11. Volume controls - Click and hold the plus or minus button to increase or decrease the volume.

Problems listening to totallyradio

*If the stream won't play
1. Check that you have unblocked pop-ups in your browser (tools/options/security).

2. Check that you have enabled "run script commands when present" in Windows Media Player (tools/options/security). Do this even if you are using the totallyradio player.

3 . If enabling "run script commands" does not work deselect it and try making sure "asf files" under tools/options/file types has the check mark next to it, and that the check mark box is white, not grayed-out. If it's grayed-out, even with the check mark, it will not play.

4. Check you have not selected high quality audio as a default user preference while using a dialup modem connection.

5. Check you have the latest version of windows media player. You should also check your system specification; the minimum requirements are detailed above.

If you are still having problems please email us at support@totallyradio.com with details of your operating system, windows media player version and any other relevant information.

*If the sound quality is low and you are using a broadband or equivalent connection, check you have selected high quality audio as a default user preference.

*If you are still having difficulties, it may be a problem with your ISP or with the totallyradio server.

Please contact us and tell us of any problems at support@totallyradio.com
